Green groups of all kinds came together to show their stuff at the Green Lifestyles show, staged by the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) on July 10. The annual expo was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Trinidad. Members of the public were invited to come and see their offerings. Eco-tourism, industry, commerce, ecological administration, wildlife, resource management, recycling and more were some of the areas addressed at myriad booths arranged throughout the space. There were energy-oriented businesses like Natural Power Ltd, Sure Solar Ltd and Smart Energy. Others, like Cher Mere and Kiara Kay Earth Candles, displayed natural products.

Government ministries like the Ministry of Food Production and the Ministry of Community Development showed their green side. Businesses showed how they were adapting to these more eco-conscious times with greener products and services. These included Natural Paving Solutions, Magic Mist and Tiger Tank Cleaning. There were also groups whose whole purview is ecological in nature, like the popular Asa Wright Nature Centre, Recycling in Motion, which demonstrated the crushing of plastic bottles, and Sustain T&T, which screened films featured in its annual Green Screen eco film festival. Though some noted that participation from the public was down from last year, this was attributed to the rainy weather.
Those who did attend showed avid interest in the displays, asking questions and leaving with gifts, tokens and lots of information.
