Edghill Messiah, EVP HR, Customer Care and Risk Management, was on hand to welcome 20 interns taking part in the blink/bmobile University Vacation Intern Programme (UVIP) 2012, titled Building Your Career, Igniting your Passion on June 13 at the company's Chaguaramas Training Centre. The interns are undergraduates of various universities. Messiah said the students would be guided on the job by qualified, experienced professionals, over a ten-week period in all aspects of the business and will be exposed to the technology that fuels a telecommunications organisation.
In a release, the company said the interns started off with three intense days of developmental training in career essentials, time management, customer service, basic telecommunications, and behavioral assessment. "Telecoms today is a dynamic, multi-disciplined work environment and the organisation is quite excited about continuing the programme, now in its third year. "We are committed to developing the country's youth and to fostering exemplary telecommunications talent in Trinidad and Tobago. The interns will be placed in a variety of departments including mobile, human resources, technology and customer care," Messiah said.
