Edghill Mes­si­ah, EVP HR, Cus­tomer Care and Risk Man­age­ment, was on hand to wel­come 20 in­terns tak­ing part in the blink/bmo­bile Uni­ver­si­ty Va­ca­tion In­tern Pro­gramme (UVIP) 2012, ti­tled Build­ing Your Ca­reer, Ig­nit­ing your Pas­sion on June 13 at the com­pa­ny's Ch­aguara­mas Train­ing Cen­tre. The in­terns are un­der­grad­u­ates of var­i­ous uni­ver­si­ties. Mes­si­ah said the stu­dents would be guid­ed on the job by qual­i­fied, ex­pe­ri­enced pro­fes­sion­als, over a ten-week pe­ri­od in all as­pects of the busi­ness and will be ex­posed to the tech­nol­o­gy that fu­els a telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions or­gan­i­sa­tion.

In a re­lease, the com­pa­ny said the in­terns start­ed off with three in­tense days of de­vel­op­men­tal train­ing in ca­reer es­sen­tials, time man­age­ment, cus­tomer ser­vice, ba­sic telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions, and be­hav­ioral as­sess­ment. "Tele­coms to­day is a dy­nam­ic, mul­ti-dis­ci­plined work en­vi­ron­ment and the or­gan­i­sa­tion is quite ex­cit­ed about con­tin­u­ing the pro­gramme, now in its third year. "We are com­mit­ted to de­vel­op­ing the coun­try's youth and to fos­ter­ing ex­em­plary telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions tal­ent in Trinidad and To­ba­go. The in­terns will be placed in a va­ri­ety of de­part­ments in­clud­ing mo­bile, hu­man re­sources, tech­nol­o­gy and cus­tomer care," Mes­si­ah said.
