The second session of the Tenth Parliament will be prorogued at midnight tonight, Parliament officials said yesterday. This follows yesterday's sitting of the Senate, which has adjourned for the session. A Government spokesman said the ceremonial opening of the Third Session of the Tenth Parliament will be held on July 11. This will be the first ceremonial opening at the current Waterfront location of Parliament. Yesterday's Senate session featured the four new appointees-Ganga Singh, Marlene Coudray, Larry Howai, and Jamal Mohammed-who were announced in the Prime Minister's Cabinet reshuffle last Friday. House of Representatives members whose portfolios were changed in the reshuffle will have to wait until the third session of Parliament begins to take up their new places.
