The children who took part in the annual Vacation Bible School camp held at Susamachar Presbyterian Church, from July 9-13 got the opportunity to showcase their handicraft at a church service on July 15. They conducted the Christian Education Sunday morning service at the church, where the cardboard helmets, swords and breastplates they made were used to decorate the church.
During the camp the children, who ranged from ages five to 15, enjoyed fun activities that incorporated the camp's theme, Putting on the armor of God. Nola Ramloogan, secretary of the local Presbyterian Board, said the purpose of the camp was to create an awareness of the spiritual teachings in an environment, that was welcoming to the children. She described it as "another way of teaching the gospel," and as a way to relieve children from their stress of studying from school and to start their vacation in the right way.
The camp culminated with a field trip to the Eco centre in Valencia for a day of relaxation and fun.
The children were awarded with certificates of participation.
