Forty-one stu­dents were cel­e­brat­ed by Chief Jus­tice Ivor Archie and mem­bers of the Court Ad­min­is­tra­tive Unit at the Ju­di­cia­ry's in­au­gur­al SEA Awards Cer­e­mo­ny. The cer­e­mo­ny, which was held at the Con­vo­ca­tion Hall, at the Hall of Jus­tice on Ju­ly 17, paid trib­ute to the chil­dren of Ju­di­cia­ry em­ploy­ees and their par­ents for their dili­gence and dis­ci­pline. A re­lease from the Ju­di­cia­ry said that in her ad­dress to the gath­er­ing, Bren­da Chin Le­ung Fatt John, Court head Hu­man Re­sources laud­ed both par­ents and chil­dren for their suc­cess, not on­ly in com­plet­ing the ex­am, but in their abil­i­ty to weath­er the stress­es as­so­ci­at­ed with ini­tial prepa­ra­tions and the anx­i­ety of await­ing re­sults.

The Ju­di­cia­ry pre­sent­ed gift cer­tifi­cates to par­ents to as­sist in the pur­chase of these items. Jus­tice Ivor Archie told stu­dents their lives are suc­cess sto­ries in the mak­ing. He en­cour­aged the stu­dents to look for­ward to the next few years de­spite chal­lenges, since greater things were in store. In a mo­ti­va­tion­al ad­dress Paul Keens Dou­glas ad­vised the stu­dents to be bal­anced, fo­cused and to cre­ate last­ing mem­o­ries while de­vot­ing them­selves to the task of be­ing what they want to be.
