ANSA Financial Services and CIBC First International Caribbean Bank underscored their commitment to the corporate social responsibility concept on July 21, by partnering with the CARE Foundation (Complete Assistance Respect Equality) for an event called An Evening of Reflection, held at the Immortelle Centre, St Ann’s Gardens, St Ann’s. Anton La Fond is head of the non-profit organisation which prides itself on promoting respect for the disabled in T&T, through advocacy, aiming to educate the populace about challenges experienced by people with disability when society fails to provide facilities to improve their lives. An Evening of Reflection was held in observance of the nation’s 50th Anniversary of Independence with the presentation of awards to athlete Dwight Yearwood and Bhawani Persad, founding member and first president of the T&T Blind and Visually Impaired Cricket Association. Posthumous awards were presented to media presenter Allyson Hennessy and social activist George Daniel for their outstanding work in the disabled community.
