Patrons ‘lose it to win it’ at Digicel Summer Burn

Participants at the Digicel Summer Burn weave their way through the cones as they attempt to lose the pounds in the “Lose it to Win It” competition.
The Queen’s Park Savannah was bathed in a sea of red T-shirts drenched in sweat as eager keep-fit enthusiasts turned out for the Monday afternoon work-out of the Digicel Summer Burn. A press release from the company said the event takes on a new dynamic each week, since the hundreds of participants never know what to expect from the instructors of the Long Circular Club. Group exercises, cone drills and an intense ab routine were included in the sessions. Participants in the Digicel “Lose It To Win It” team challenge came in for the weigh-in, which saw several teams make remarkable progress as their pound-shedding efforts paid off.
The teams to beat going into the next week of the competition are: The Play Whe-NLCB; Weapons of Mass Reduction; Maximum Dunners; Santa Cruz Posse; D-Krew; Mission Slim Possible; Awesome 5; U-Wee; SF5; Slim Seekers and Looney Tunes. Teams are vying for the grand prize of $10,000 and the individual person who loses the most weight will earn a three-month free membership to the Long Circular Gym. Digicel will continue the Summer Burn with the new “Lose It To Win It” team competition every Monday until September 3 at the Queen’s Park Savannah from 5 pm.
