Af­ter two days of keen com­pe­ti­tion, Ja­son Wal­lace and Saul Joan­ni emerged the win­ners in this year's Chief Sec­re­tary's Char­i­ty Golf Tour­na­ment and were re­ward­ed at a prize giv­ing cer­e­mo­ny that took place on Au­gust 19, at the Mag­dale­na Grand Beach Re­sort. Among the golfers who took part in a week­end of friend­ly spar­ring on the greens at the To­ba­go Plan­ta­tions Golf course were for­mer West In­dies and na­tion­al crick­eters Ian Bish­op and Deryck Mur­ray, Chief Jus­tice Ivor Archie and me­dia per­son­al­i­ty Neil Guisep­pi.

This year all pro­ceeds from the tour­na­ment will go to­ward as­sist­ing lit­tle Se­les Maria Gan­der­son, who has med­ical com­pli­ca­tions re­sult­ing from an op­er­a­tion to cor­rect a brain tu­mour and needs a num­ber of cor­rec­tive surg­eries. Hazel Dou­glas Dig­i­cel's To­ba­go Coun­try man­ag­er said: "This year we are tremen­dous­ly sup­port­ive of the char­i­ty of choice and look for­ward to see­ing lit­tle Se­les Grander­son walk again in the very near fu­ture.
