More than 4,000 couples from 70 countries attended the 11th international gathering of the Teams movement in Brasilia, Brazil. Teams is a non-profit organisation that promotes and supports couple relationship and family life. "Family life is the basic cell on which a society is built, and by extension, by which a civilisation is built," said Dwight Gonsalves, who along with his wife Christine are Teams sector leaders in Trinidad and Tobago. The Teams movement now offers support groups to assist couples in dealing with marriage preparations, issues in marriage and crises in marriage.
The movement is fully aware of the reality that couples need to support and encourage each other. This gathering in Brazil brought together a diverse group of people from different racial, cultural and economic backgrounds who share the same beliefs. The Trinidad contingent also included Teams regional leaders Gregory and Shamagne Bertrand, Brent and Ria Cardenas, Wendy and Dr Steve Johnson and Fr Dexter Brereton.
