The footballers, volleyball and basketball players of the Special Olympics of Trinidad & Tobago (SOTT) now have some brand new equipment with which to practice, donated by the Digicel Foundation.
The presentation of the equipment took place at the Jean Pierre Complex, Port-of-Spain on November 22. The young special athletes were given an array of volleyballs, footballs, basketballs; starter blocks for running, colourful batons for relay races, cones for dribbling exercises and goalposts and nets.
On receiving the equipment Norma James, chairman of SOTT said, "It has been a challenge for the athletes to train without equipment. We are grateful to Digicel for their continued support." The Special Olympics of Trinidad & Tobago caters for 700 special athletes in 12 disciplines of sport.
