Aye aye. How allyuh goin? I dey, surviving. There are so many situations flying around in my life and those around me right now that require decisions.
What to do? What to do? Friends. Family. The man on the street begging in front a store I frequent. So many people looking for answers.
De answers right in front of we. Once yuh is ah Trini, yuh good. I can take that a step further, once yuh is ah Trini and yuh living in Trini, yuh good.
Ah could hear de groans now. Dat so much wrong with T&T dat ah muss be blind.
Steups. No matter what is going on with we as individuals or we as a country, that being put in such a blessed place by the boss man up above should never be discounted.
It's like the theory behind beautiful women. Dat people feel she could get by, just by being pretty. By being sexy. Looking good in a dress.
Some women who fit this bill, want to surpass this stereotype and prove that they work hard for their money. Others accept their beauty for what it is, an asset. That's what we need to do. Accept our natural beauty as a nation and as a people for what it is, an asset. A blessing.
Ah tyad tell allyuh, it warm right through. Imagine driving around on a normal day. Your normal day. Picture it eh! Yuh air conditioning start to feel like it eh coldin' enough.
Steups. Like it break. Yuh hadda get it fix. So yuh wine down yuh glass and make ah mental note tuh call yuh mechanic or car dealer for a service.
Yuh stop somewhere and get a cold bottle of water and yuh make do. Allyuh feel allyuh doin' dat in winter? Negative.
Who windin' down dat window in ah two-degree weather? Not me sah. And wah? Hadda sit dong in dat car with coat and all kinda ting? How yuh go drive? Wit all dem layers it go reach pass de steering whe? Ent? Steups.
This morning, me and the family were on our way to work. Hubby, de boy and me and I swear the poui looked so beautiful around the Savannah. There is also a tree, me eh know what it's called, that has these beautiful purple blossoms. Just gorgeous! Doh mine de electrical lines does spoil de view and de smartphone pictair dem ah little. It jes so pretty.
Now living in London was pretty too eh...if yuh like pretty concrete. Some call it architecture. Yeah yeah, I can appreciate that. I could appreciate ah bake and shark on Maracas much, much more. You?
I hearing allyuh now, "all ah dat cannot eradicate the ills that exist in our country."
Steups. Allyuh does behave like dem other place doh have ills.
It come like yuh eh like de bathroom een your house cause it fushcia pink. But yuh eh doing nuttin to change it. But yuh still complaining.
And den yuh go in somebody else house and dey bathroom pink same way and it new. And de showing it off tuh yuh. Wha yuh go say? Dat yuh do like it? Most would be polite and say it nice.
Allyuh get meh point? If not, too bad. I eh re-explainin'. We need to get used to what is our home and work with what we've got or change it. It all begins with us, yuh know, no matter who say what.
I firmly believe that as Trinis, we can make any negative situation positive.
Look at de coup. All kinda curfew party went down. We country under duress, we limin'! State ah emergency de udder day, all kinda house lime take part with people liming till curfew lift de next morning.
Me and de family went Toco for Easter, or Salibya...is de same place ent? And traffic like sweet ants all over yuh jub-jub in yuh kitchen.
Ah see real man come out and take ah wee-wee. To me dey made de best of ah lame situation.
We need to do that more often in Trinidad. And we need to pass it on. Not every chance we get to be negative and complain should be taken. And I need to remember that more than most. I start each day thanking de Fadda that I am here, where ah born and dat meh chile happy and healthy.
After that, I try to take each situation one step at ah time. It doesn't go as ah planned but ah give mehself ah A plus for effort.
