#lilsun evolves at Medulla Art Gallery
Rodell Warner will direct a live performance of #lilsun, an experimental, interactive installation, which uses animation to celebrate the human body. Warner seeks to interrogate the idea that we are discreet individuals, creating an environment where performer and audience experience themselves as interconnected, in a plane of pattern and evolution.
The piece comprises a series of animated patterns, projected on a background of semi sculptural lino-prints, between which performers and audience move simultaneously disrupting and clarifying the visual landscape. Audiences can expect to encounter an immersive audio-visual experience; recalling symmetry, networks and webs, spontaneity and experiences of the divine.
The performance begins at 6 pm today at Medulla Art Gallery, 37 Fitt Street, Woodbrook, Port-of-Spain. Viewers are encouraged to wear white, and are invited to record and share the event using the hashtag #lilsun.
New Media is presented by the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival and co-curated in collaboration with ARC Magazine. This year’s New Media event is supported by venue partner Medulla Art Gallery and projection specialists North Eleven.
