Time is running out to cash in on Restaurant Week. With three days to go, those who have not ventured out to any of the 24 restaurants that are participating, now is your chance.
Reports coming in to organiser Shira Mohammed of Bee Marketing and Events indicates since it's start last Friday, restaurants have been booked up all week.
"It's really going fabulously well. I wasn't expecting a restaurant to be sold out on a Tuesday night," she said via telephone yesterday.
Mohammed said George Aleong, head chef at Chop Chops Gourmet Market & Bistro on Mucurapo Rd, St James, had to announce his restaurant was booked up and was only taking reservations for tonight and Saturday.
"George was ecstatic," Mohammed said.
She said other restaurants have been giving positive feedback, asking for the week to be extended.
"I can't do that. It really has to be only a week, otherwise it will lose its appeal," she explained.
With restaurants seeing heavy traffic, it was a clear indicator that diners were having a ball.
According to Mohammed, Chaud could only give her a reservation at 9.30 on Saturday night, as patrons hurried to book spots at the popular restaurant.
She said those restaurants that were initially skeptical about coming on board were definitely happy with their decision in the end.
