The Neal & Massy Foundation recently had the pleasure of partnering with Alta in full support of continuing the sustenance and growth of lifelong learning for the citizens of T&T.
Acknowledging the importance of the vision put forward by Alta, The Neal & Massy Foundation donated $45,000 for the purpose of sponsoring one of Alta's Free Adult Literacy Classes at the International School of Port-of-Spain. A release from Neal and Massy said this project started in September 2013 and is scheduled to end in July 2014.
Incorporating an innovative approach to literacy instruction, Alta has formed a solid reputation in the literacy field providing free adult literacy classes to people aged 16 and over. Targeting communities throughout T&T for over 20 years as a non-governmental organisation, Alta has remarkably gained national and international recognition.
Gaston Aguilera, chairman of The Neal & Massy Foundation, said "I wish to extend congratulations to Paula Lucie-Smith, Founder of Alta for her sterling contribution over many years towards bringing a sense of hope to a group of citizens who would otherwise have fallen by the wayside."
Aguilera went on to say that "through this partnership The Neal & Massy Foundation has taken its mandate a step further with its focus on making a difference in the lives of those with literacy needs and empowering members of communities through Alta's project."
He further stated that "this partnership truly embodies the mission of The Neal & Massy Foundation to enrich the lives of citizens of T&T."
