UK-based Trinidadian author Hazel Sinanan recently launched her first book The God Within Speaks: An Inner Pilgrimage to the Soul of Wisdom at the Carapichaima East Secondary School.

Sinanan, an attorney, now markets herself as an internationally-recognised spiritual teacher, energy healer, channel and telepath.

The book’s introduction speaks about the author’s spiritual journey and transformation to the point of spiritual awakening and the goal of encouraging others to engage in similar experiences.

Sinanan has no temples or ashrams nor is she affiliated with any religion. She told the Guardian she believes individuals need some level of guidance but need not be followers.

“I feel strongly against the whole guru status as it compromises one’s innate sovereignty.”

Sinanan believes that all she has achieved on the spiritual path can be achieved by anyone seeking knowledge and truth.

“My religious background is Presbyterian, but from 2001 to now, my experiences facilitated a discovery of what I like to call a new religion, the religion of Spirit,” she said.

“I moved away from orthodox mainstream religion as my ardent search for truth yielded a whole new experience of revelations from spirit. From 2002, I began to work with my spirit guides and was channelling wisdom in the form of poetry and prose.”

Sinanan said a series of personal experiences from 2002 to 2006, allowed her to “unearth her inner strength and find the presence of God in a real and abiding way,” facilitating her spiritual transformation.

In 2006, she also moved out of legal private practice to enter Legal Education where she worked for BPP Professional Education as their Head of Dispute Resolution and Higher Rights of Audience Civil programme.

This role involved her training qualified lawyers as part of their continuing professional development, as well as training solicitors to become competent advocates (solicitor advocates) before high court judges.

She pointed to September 2009 and January 2010 as two key points for her further development. She lists visitations from archangel Michael and out-of-body experiences where she claims to have met Christ several times as key moments in her life.

As a clairvoyant, Sinanan said she has had many revelations from “higher beings of light” and her life was transformed through the wisdom given to her.

Sinanan said the book is about her spiritual journey, transformation and unfolding and her discovery of her inner divine essence.
The book’s first four chapters chart the initial steps in the author’s spiritual awakening which combine her divine experiences, encounters and lessons learnt.
This is to assist readers in connecting with the author’s experience and energy, as well as comprehending the purpose of the book, that of encouraging the readers to seek absolute truth from within by forging a relationship with their divine essence.
The God Within Speaks, An Inner Pilgrimage to the Soul of Wisdom is available on and through the Balboa Press Web site.
