Black Tie Event Management will be hosting Fte L'amour, the first bridal flea market in T&T on the Port-of-Spain Waterfront this Saturday.
Fte L'amour Bridal Flea Market will include vendors like Bang Bang Home and Hobby, Azor Antiques, Vamos a Texas, Deco by Diane, CC's Event Planning and Linen Rental, I Live 4 Gems, Blossom's Accessories Loft, and Brides 'N Grooms by Sherene. Patrons are also invited to contact Black Tie Event Management before July 17 for commissioned sales of their vintage and gently-used wedding apparel and dcor items, giving new meaning to the old wedding adage, "something old, something new." Bead Caf will also be hosting a free workshop at the event.
"By showcasing Fte L'amour Bridal Flea Market, Black Tie aims to encourage event decorators and past brides to sell their gently used and vintage items to make back some of the money spent on their wedding or event dcor," said a Black Tie Event Management representative via e-mail.
"Therefore, brides-to-be can 'wed responsibly' and find their something old, something new or something borrowed, and upcoming event professionals are given the opportunity to reuse and repurpose great finds at reasonable prices so they don't go to waste."
Items that can be found at the flea market include candle votives, vases, signage, linens, embellishments, veils, wedding gowns, jewelry, handmade pieces, card boxes, cake and candy stands and unique rentals.
The event will also showcase new and up-and-coming musical performers. The organisers feel a forum like this is a great opportunity to support both new and existing artists because it gives them an excellent chance to be heard by those who might be hosting events.
While it may be the first event of its kind, Black Tie Events doesn't intend for it to be the last, as they plan to host another event in October of this year.
Founded in 2013 by a T&T Hospitality and Tourism Institute graduate, Black Tie Event Management provides a full range of wedding services from apparel to honeymoon, as well as corporate and special events.
Saturday's event starts at 9 am at the Port-of-Spain International Waterfront Centre. For more information, call Black Tie Event Management at 628-4873, e-mail blacktie.eventmanagement@gmail.com or visit their office at 77 Woodford Street, Newtown, Port-of-Spain.
