Scenes of thoroughbreds bolting down the racetrack to the cheers of visibly thrilled fans filled the precincts of the Santa Rosa Park in Arima, as the exciting Easter Monday tradition continued on April 6.
Occasion was the Arima Race Club's hosting of the much-loved Easter Guineas–a race card which brought together people of all social status to witness the exhilaration–as horses and jockeys tag-teamed for high stakes.
Off the track, meanwhile, women attending the day's event got all dressed up for the Easter Bonnet competition, while children were treated to horse-back rides and other delightful activities to suit their taste buds.
Steelpan music also played a major part on the day's playbill and featured White Oak Starlift Steel Orchestra, which was responsible for playing chart-topping numbers to the satisfaction of those gathered.
