More than 4,000 children will join voices to sing in the Savannah in a concert on May 16, between 4 � 6 pm.It's the first time so many primary school children from all over the country will be coming together to perform in such a large choir. They are calling themselves the T&T Young Voices Choir.
The concert will include the international vocal entertainer Randolph Matthews, whose interactive, engaging vocal style has made him popular in the UK and elsewhere. Matthews is known for his unique blend of jazz, soul and ethnic beatbox vocals.He has collaborated with the UK Young Voices choir, which involved 6,000 children touring up and down England from Manchester to the Royal Albert Hall performing for more than 500,000 people over two years alongside UK singers Alexandra Burke and Beverley Knight and Irish folk singers The High Kings.
He has also performed with many artistes, including Plan B, Grace Jones, Shlomo (Edinburgh fringe tour), The Soil and world/ jazz bass player Richard Bona, plus regular performance for the London Jazz festival.Tessanne Chin, the Jamaican recording artiste and winner of the American NBC hit show, The Voice (Season 5), will also be singing with the T&T Young Voices Choir.
Local stars also participating will include Digicel Rising Stars winners Neval Chatelal and Neisha Guy.Digicel and the Ministry of the Arts and Multiculturalism are supporting the concert, which takes place at the Grandstand, Queen's Park Savannah.Tickets ($200, $250 and $300) are available at Digicel outlets in Trincity Mall, Chaguanas, West Mall, and Gulf City (San Fernando).
