RBC Royal Bank, through its Education Foundation continues to support children and their access to education in Trinidad and Tobago by disbursing financial aid to non-governmental organisations that are committed to protecting and providing opportunities for our young ones.
Recently the bank presented Children's Ark, Moms for Literacy and the LIFE Centre with funds needed to continue doing their amazing work.
The Children's Ark is a registered, charitable, non-profit organisation specifically catering to the needs of marginalised and 'at risk' children, within our society. The organisation received funding from the bank to assist with their Children Trafficking Awareness and Prevention campaign which disseminated information in schools and communities using a number of multimedia strategies.
The bank also recently partnered with Moms For Literacy as they provide much needed literacy intervention for at risk young people with challenges in this area. This NGO is committed to the improvement of literacy skills among children in Trinidad and Tobago by providing customised programmes in reading, writing and critical thinking.
LIFE Centre is a not for profit organisation devoted to providing a school environment dispensing special education to children within the medium to severe the end of the Autism spectrum and communication related disorders. RBC is partnering with this organisation to ensure that our special needs children can receive the access to education that they deserve.
Simone Edwards, Area Vice President, Personal Banking South and Chairman of the Royal Bank Education Foundation said the bank's commitment to the country extended far beyond providing the products and services that meet their client's financial needs.
Edwards said, "At RBC we understand that we are only as strong as the neighbourhoods in which we live, work and play and so we are dedicated to empowering people through significant investments in the communities in which we operate. To do this, we have entered into strategic partnerships with others, as we all work together to build stronger communities and a better Trinidad and Tobago."
