To help professionals increase their ability to deliver powerful, persuasive business presentations, communication consultancy Livewired Group is delivering a public-speaking workshop called Mastering Presentations & Public Speaking at Queen's Hall on May 5 and 6.
Senior executives, managers, mid-level professionals, and anyone who delivers presentations to colleagues and clients will benefit from it, says the Livewired Group, especially as organisations need people who can convince others to support their goals and programmes.
"We've advised people to wear comfy shoes," says Karel Mc Intosh, director of training and marketing at Livewired Group, who will be leading the workshop.
"Participants will be on their feet on both days, practising new techniques, and getting individual feedback. This training is not about mechanical rules or robotic gestures. We'll help you to leverage your natural strengths, boost your confidence, and apply effective public speaking strategy."
The workshop will also explore a range of topics including crafting business pitches, managing your nerves, vocal delivery and body language, engaging audiences, and PowerPoint design.
With 15 years' experience in marketing and corporate communication, Mc Intosh has delivered training for companies like the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business, First Citizens, and Massy Group. She has also lectured at UTT and Costaatt, and designed the University of the West Indies' (St Augustine) first public relations course.
She holds an MSc (distinction) in Corporate Communication from Thames Valley University (UK).
Livewired Group also delivers training in areas such as business writing, report writing, social media marketing, customer service, supervisory skills, and communication skills for managers.
