Trinidad and Tobago can boast of its flourishing creative industries. Our music is renowned and our film and fashion are making new waves both locally and internationally. Naturally, the development of these industries is heavily supported by the government because of their potential to contribute significantly to economic growth, a release said.
In light of this, the Trinidad and Tobago Creative Industries Company Limited (CreativeTT) launched its new website on July 19–www.creativett.co.tt; a virtual hub for all things music, film and fashion that will be used to propel local talent in each industry as well as provide information about available resources, initiatives and incentives.
The new website showcases various practitioners in the music, film and fashion industries in order to increase public awareness of the established and upcoming talent and provide international scouts with a good look at the creativity our country has to offer.
The website will also be used to promote industry events and initiatives held by the company and its partners.
A main feature of FilmTT's page is the production directory where information on the country's production companies, equipment, set designers, sound engineers, location scouts, etc can all be found in one place.
This feature will enhance T&T's position as the ideal filmmaking destination by showcasing the infrastructure and resources readily available in this country.
Similarly, MusicTT and FashionTT's practitioner databases will make available to the public a comprehensive list of local talents as well as provide resources to facilitate and stimulate the business development of these industries.
A release from CreativeTT said the website is expected to not only bring awareness to the creative genius of T&T's citizenry but will more importantly enable the creative industries to pioneer this country's economic diversification thrust.
