Thirteen suspects were arrested and five firearms seized during a series of coordinated operations under the ongoing State of Emergency on Wednesday.
In the Central Division, officers arrested a 22-year-old St Helena man with a loaded pistol.
Two men, aged 38 and 19, of Maraval were held in the Western Division for possession of a revolver with four rounds, while a search at a 24-year-old Cocorite man’s home led to the discovery of a magazine containing five rounds.
In the South Western Division, a 37-year-old Penal man was arrested with a pistol fitted with a selector and an extended magazine holding 11 rounds.
Oropouche officers found 20 cannabis plants and 1.1 kilograms of cured cannabis at a 29-year-old suspect’s home.
In Morvant, a 29-year-old man was held with a pistol, a magazine containing six rounds, a drum magazine with an undisclosed number of rounds, and cannabis. His 31-year-old female companion was also arrested for using obscene language and resisting arrest.
In Couva, Inter-Agency Task Force officers recovered a pistol loaded with 15 rounds during a search on Church Street.
Police also found two kilogram of cannabis in four black packets along 17th Street in Beetham.
In a separate operation in Santa Cruz, officers arrested a man wanted in connection with a 2024 murder.
And in Piarco, four suspects were held after an investigation into stolen power tools led officers to a Curepe car park, where two of the items were recovered.
Investigations are ongoing.
