Thir­teen sus­pects were ar­rest­ed and five firearms seized dur­ing a se­ries of co­or­di­nat­ed op­er­a­tions un­der the on­go­ing State of Emer­gency on Wednes­day.

In the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion, of­fi­cers ar­rest­ed a 22-year-old St He­le­na man with a loaded pis­tol.

Two men, aged 38 and 19, of Mar­aval were held in the West­ern Di­vi­sion for pos­ses­sion of a re­volver with four rounds, while a search at a 24-year-old Co­corite man’s home led to the dis­cov­ery of a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing five rounds.

In the South West­ern Di­vi­sion, a 37-year-old Pe­nal man was ar­rest­ed with a pis­tol fit­ted with a se­lec­tor and an ex­tend­ed mag­a­zine hold­ing 11 rounds.

Oropouche of­fi­cers found 20 cannabis plants and 1.1 kilo­grams of cured cannabis at a 29-year-old sus­pect’s home.

In Mor­vant, a 29-year-old man was held with a pis­tol, a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing six rounds, a drum mag­a­zine with an undis­closed num­ber of rounds, and cannabis. His 31-year-old fe­male com­pan­ion was al­so ar­rest­ed for us­ing ob­scene lan­guage and re­sist­ing ar­rest.

In Cou­va, In­ter-Agency Task Force of­fi­cers re­cov­ered a pis­tol loaded with 15 rounds dur­ing a search on Church Street.

Po­lice al­so found two kilo­gram of cannabis in four black pack­ets along 17th Street in Beetham.

In a sep­a­rate op­er­a­tion in San­ta Cruz, of­fi­cers ar­rest­ed a man want­ed in con­nec­tion with a 2024 mur­der.

And in Pi­ar­co, four sus­pects were held af­ter an in­ves­ti­ga­tion in­to stolen pow­er tools led of­fi­cers to a Curepe car park, where two of the items were re­cov­ered.
