Po­lice de­tained 18 un­doc­u­ment­ed Venezue­lan im­mi­grants at a house in Li­eth Street, Ma­yaro to­day, dur­ing ex­er­cis­es in the East­ern Di­vi­sion.

Ac­cord­ing to a brief state­ment from the T&T Po­lice Ser­vice (TTPS), as a re­sult of in­tel­li­gence gath­ered, of­fi­cers ex­e­cut­ed a war­rant at a home in Ma­yaro where the un­doc­u­ment­ed im­mi­grants were ar­rest­ed.

They ex­pect­ed to be hand­ed over to im­mi­gra­tion.

The TTPS says in­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
