Two suspects were arrested and a vehicle was seized in the North Eastern Division yesterday when officers conducted Anti-Crime Exercises.
In a statement the TTPS said around 12:20 pm, officers proceeded to Mon Repos Road, Morvant to conduct enquiries relative to a white Toyota Aqua which was reported stolen in the Barataria district.
The officers proceeded to Mon Repos Road and observed the motor vehicle parked at a house, a search was conducted of the area and whilst searching a bedroom, a rifle and 30 rounds of ammunition were reportedly found and seized. A male and female occupant of the house were arrested and are assisting police with the investigations.
Also based on information received, relative to a report of Larceny Motor Vehicle the party of officers proceeded to Percy Hill, Laventille Road, Febeau Village, San Juan area and during a search discovered a silver coloured Toyota Aqua bearing false registration plates and tampered ignition was recovered.
Officers also recovered another stolen vehicle when they mounted an intelligence-based exercise on Laventille Road, San Juan.
The party of officers proceeded to Noriega Lane, Laventille Road, San Juan and conducted a search and one silver-coloured Nissan AD Wagon, with ignition tampered, with and several items were recovered. No one was arrested relative to the said finding.
Investigations are continuing.
