One of the best shows ever witnessed in T&T. That was how the majority of patrons described Saturday's Evolution of Sound Concert, held at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Port-of-Spain. The event, hosted by Tri-Star Promotions in collaboration with Icon Bliss and Global United, attracted hundreds of fans for the show which featured reggae artistes Damian "Junior Gong" Marley, Jah Cure and American rapper, Nas. The stars of the night were Marley and Nas, who, with their spirited performances, sent the crowd into a frenzy with collaborative tracks off their album Distant Relatives. The duo is currently on tour to promote the album which was released in May this year and features guest artistes such as Stephen Marley, Dennis Brown and Lil Wayne.
Gracing the stage, Nas, whose real name is Nasir Jones, and Marley were greeted by loud cheers from the crowd. Marley delivered some of his more popular material, including More Justice, Hey Girl and Beautiful, featuring American R&B singer Bobby Brown and Exodus, a remake of his late father Bob Marley's classic song of the same title. Nas pleased hip hop lovers when he sang Nas Is Like, Hip Hop Is Dead, Hate Me Now and One Mic. After a 30-minute intermission, Jah Cure made his way on stage, but despite delivering a commendable performance and belting out some of his most beloved tracks like Divide and Rule, You'll Never Find and Unconditional Love. Marley, Nas and Jah Cure were presented with plaques for their appreciation and contribution to Caribbean culture.
