A san­i­ta­tion work­er of Pleas­antville, who stole $5,724 worth of con­struc­tion ma­te­r­i­al, was jailed for 18 months when he ap­peared in the San Fer­nan­do Mag­is­trates' Court yes­ter­day. Steve Granger stood be­fore Deputy Chief Mag­is­trate Mark Welling­ton and plead­ed guilty to lar­ce­ny.

He was charged with steal­ing 100 lengths of 3/8 steel rods, four lengths of 5/8 steel rods and 36 con­crete blocks dur­ing the pe­ri­od No­vem­ber 29, 2010 and De­cem­ber 3, 2010 at Pleas­antville Av­enue, Pleas­antville. The court heard the own­er of the con­struc­tion ma­te­ri­als se­cured the items on No­vem­ber 29.
