A 19 year-old man who crashed in­to two parked ve­hi­cles af­ter leav­ing a San Fer­nan­do night club has been fined $4,500. Ya­dav Ram­path, of Ca­roni, al­so had his dri­ver's per­mit tak­en away from him for 50 days for dri­ving while in­tox­i­cat­ed. He ap­peared be­fore San Fer­nan­do Traf­fic Court Se­nior Mag­is­trate Ra­jen­dra Ram­bachan for sen­tenc­ing on Tues­day af­ter plead­ing guilty to fail­ing the breathal­yser test on Mon­day.

Ram­bachan, in pass­ing sen­tence, told Ram­path's moth­er it was her re­spon­si­bil­i­ty to in­cul­cate good val­ues in her son. "The re­al work is now start­ing to take him and lead him in the right way," Ram­bachan said.

Ram­path was charged af­ter the ac­ci­dent on De­cem­ber 4. (RR)
