Works and Transport Minister Jack Warner has thanked PNM jefes for their support in the CAL issue. PNM leader Keith Rowley and PNM MP Colm Imbert recently agreed with Warner's statements that the CAL board should not operate without consultation with the line minister.
Yesterday, Warner said: "They've been Cabinet ministers longer than I and they would know what the protocol is,(so) I thank them for their frank and open support." On comments by some CAL board members-accusing him of "fighting"-Warner says he was standing by his statements that the CAL board should "do the ethical thing and resign."
Warner denied reports that he had given Cabinet any ultimatum on the issue, including that members had to choose between him or the CAL board. "I have nothing more to say on the issue until Cabinet meets," he added. (GA)
