He said there were many instances of people receiving pensions who were not entitled and computerisation would eliminate waste and fraud. Ramadharsingh explained that the biometric card would use a thumb or retina print specific to the pensioner and would contain data to facilitate old age pension and food cards. He said T&T would be the leader in the region for this type of technology and would be in a position to help neighbouring governments set up similar programmes.
