Berger Paints Trinidad Ltd is known for its quality and technically sound products and has been delivering quality architectural and industrial coatings to the citizens of T&T since 1962. For more than 15 years, Berger has been annually sponsoring prizes to students in the Physics and Chemistry faculties at the University of the West Indies.
At a recent graduation ceremony, Berger awarded two graduates for best performance in physics and chemistry in Year II in the Faculty of Science and Agriculture, with a cheque each valued at $1,000. Aneke Salazar, a Final Year student in the Department of Chemistry, received the Berger Paints award for the best Year II performance in chemistry. Aneke, 21, who lives with her parents and older brother in Chaguanas, attended St Francois Girls' College. She hopes to either complete her masters in chemistry or attain her bachelors degree in pharmacy at Mona, Jamaica.
Judith Balkissoon, also a final year student, received her award for the best Year II performance in physics.Judith, who is 21 years old, attended Naparima Girls High School and lives in Rio Claro. She is the third sibling in a family of three. After completing final-year studies, Judith plans to take a break and teach. Later on she hopes to pursue her masters in electrical engineering and then masters in philosophy.
