Bag-of-Mu­sic was the sur­prise act when Re­demp­tion Chris­t­ian Cen­tre, Es­pinet Street, Laven­tille host­ed their An­nu­al Thanks­giv­ing Din­ner, on De­cem­ber 17. In keep­ing with the Christ­mas Sea­son, the paran­deros per­formed a med­ley of songs in­clud­ing I Love Je­sus and Joy to the World. Decked in her red dress, host­ess Cindy Richards-Gill had every­one cu­ri­ous about the Bag-of-Mu­sic. But from the mo­ment they hit the stage, pret­tied up with poin­set­tias, the cu­ri­ous stares turned to ap­plause. The parang band was armed with tra­di­ton­al parang in­stru­ments like chac chacs, cu­a­tros and toc toc.

Among them were Ken Sandy, Ed­mund Hink­son, Steve Camp­bell and Re­nal­do Williams. Hav­ing over­come the cu­ri­ousi­ty, the con­gre­ga­tion clapped and sang along as the Christ Child was ven­er­at­ed. Apart from Bag-of-Mu­sic, Vick­to­ria Gill, daugh­ter of pas­tor Dr Vic­tor Gill, per­formed a so­lo. Among the oth­er mem­bers of the con­gre­ga­tion who blessed hearts in song were Uni­ca Bain, Rhea Fong, Re­nee Gen­tle, Renelle Mar­tin, Sher­win Smith and for­mer ca­lyp­son­ian Monique Hec­tor. Broth­er Kevin Mar­tin led every­one in prayer. Off­stage, peo­ple sang Joy To The World The Lord Is Come.
