Trackers dogs and police from various units searched the dense forests of Guapo yesterday in search of a pensioner who went missing on Old Years' Night. Up to late yesterday, detectives were unable to find Kenrick David, 65, of Cruise Road, Cockrane Village, Guapo. His nephew, Keron David, 34, went to the Guapo Police Station on Tuesday and told police that David was missing. He told officers that David left home on New Year's Eve and was never seen again. The pensioner was wearing a grey and white golf T-shirt, blue jeans and blue and white pair of sneakers at the time of his disappearance, Keron said.
David, who walks with a limp, was described as being six feet tall, brown complexion and short grey hair.
After the report, a team of officers led by ASP Rajkumar, Sgt Ramdass, Sgt Banwarrie, Sgt Matura and Cpl Jitmansingh from the South Western Divisional Task Force, Robbery Squad, Praedial Larceny Squad and the Point Fortin CID, began investigations. Officers went at the back of David's home and combed the forests which led to Forest Reserve oilfields in Fyzabad.
