Gopeesingh was responding to a question on the matter from Port-of-Spain North/St Ann's West MP Patricia McIntosh during her contribution on Wednesday night. Also contributing to the debate was Legal Affairs Minister Prakash Ramadhar who said the legislation was not aimed at Opposition politicians but all citizens who might be engaged in acts of corruption. He said it was necessary and people who were not engaged in corruption would not have anything to fear. The House will meet again today at 1.30 pm when debate is expected to begin on a report of the Finance Committee.
