A completion date for the Arima Community Centre is not on the cards because of lack of funds and the economic situation, Community Development Minister Nizam Baksh said on Tuesday. Replying to a question in the Senate, Baksh said 84 centres were started around T&T under the last administration and 42 were completed. He said the Arima centre was seven per cent built.
On another question, Education Minister Tim Gopeesingh said nine primary school pupils had to demit schooling on account of pregnancy between 2006 and 2010. He said there was under-reporting of the situation as some students left school and returned after having a baby. (GA)
