A San Juan mason yesterday was fined $10,000 for possession of cocaine. Jason Johnson, 27, appeared before Magistrate Cheron Raphael in the Port-of-Spain Magistrates' Court to answer the charge. He pleaded guilty. Police said on January 20 they executed a search warrant at Johnson's First Street home and found 24 grammes of cocaine in his pants pocket. "The fine was calculated using the street value of the drugs," Raphael said. Police estimated the its value to be between $8,000 and $10,000.
