Petal Daniel is the new pres­i­dent of Ju­nior Cham­ber In­ter­na­tion­al (JCI) in Trinidad and To­ba­go. She heads the new board in­stalled dur­ing an event dubbed "Recre­at­ing the Space," at the JCI Head­quar­ters, Melville Lane, Port-of-Spain, on Sat­ur­day. Oth­er new of­fi­cers in­clude Lisa Dick­son and An­war Hollingsworth, as vice-pres­i­dents; and De­siree-Ann Be­deau and Cassie Ap­ple­white, sec­re­tary gen­er­al and as­sis­tant sec­re­tary, re­spec­tive­ly. Col­in Gellineau was elect­ed trea­sur­er.

Saleem Phillip was elect­ed pub­lic re­la­tions and pro­to­col of­fi­cer. One of the high­lights of the evening was the ap­point­ment of Joy Brath­waite and Stan­ley Butch­er as JCI sen­a­tors. Brath­waite and Butch­er are for­mer pres­i­dents of lo­cal chap­ters of JCI. Fea­ture speak­er at the func­tion was Dr Au­gus­tine Agu, head of of­fice and so­cial pol­i­cy ad­vis­er, UNICEF (T&T).
