Petal Daniel is the new president of Junior Chamber International (JCI) in Trinidad and Tobago. She heads the new board installed during an event dubbed "Recreating the Space," at the JCI Headquarters, Melville Lane, Port-of-Spain, on Saturday. Other new officers include Lisa Dickson and Anwar Hollingsworth, as vice-presidents; and Desiree-Ann Bedeau and Cassie Applewhite, secretary general and assistant secretary, respectively. Colin Gellineau was elected treasurer.
Saleem Phillip was elected public relations and protocol officer. One of the highlights of the evening was the appointment of Joy Brathwaite and Stanley Butcher as JCI senators. Brathwaite and Butcher are former presidents of local chapters of JCI. Feature speaker at the function was Dr Augustine Agu, head of office and social policy adviser, UNICEF (T&T).
