Trade and In­dus­try Min­is­ter Stephen Cadiz re­cent­ly vis­it­ed Reesal's In­dus­tries Ltd at the Pt Lisas In­dus­tri­al Es­tate. Reesal's is the sole san­i­tary ware fac­to­ry in the Eng­lish-speak­ing Caribbean. The vis­it was part of the min­istry's on­go­ing pro­gramme to tour busi­ness and in­dus­tri­al fa­cil­i­ties across Trinidad and To­ba­go.

Be­fore tour­ing the fac­to­ry, Cadiz and his team met with CEO Sal­ic Reesal and oth­er com­pa­ny di­rec­tors to dis­cuss the com­pa­ny's sig­nif­i­cance in T&T and cur­rent chal­lenges which they face.

Es­tab­lished in 1985, the fac­to­ry was set up un­der the British stan­dard sys­tem and pro­duces the Lo­tus brand of bath­room prod­ucts. In ad­di­tion to pro­duc­ing san­i­tary ware, Reesal's In­dus­tries Ltd ex­pand­ed its op­er­a­tions three years ago to in­clude the man­u­fac­tur­ing of steel-based prod­ucts such as gal­vanise and chain-link fences. The com­pa­ny cur­rent­ly ex­ports to sev­er­al Cari­com coun­tries, in­clud­ing Grena­da, Guyana and Bar­ba­dos.
