Trade and Industry Minister Stephen Cadiz recently visited Reesal's Industries Ltd at the Pt Lisas Industrial Estate. Reesal's is the sole sanitary ware factory in the English-speaking Caribbean. The visit was part of the ministry's ongoing programme to tour business and industrial facilities across Trinidad and Tobago.
Before touring the factory, Cadiz and his team met with CEO Salic Reesal and other company directors to discuss the company's significance in T&T and current challenges which they face.
Established in 1985, the factory was set up under the British standard system and produces the Lotus brand of bathroom products. In addition to producing sanitary ware, Reesal's Industries Ltd expanded its operations three years ago to include the manufacturing of steel-based products such as galvanise and chain-link fences. The company currently exports to several Caricom countries, including Grenada, Guyana and Barbados.
