Toco UNC constituency chairman Dane Francois has said that while Toco UNC members do have to take a number to see their MP, there are no problems in the unit. Francois was responding on Wednesday to concerns raised by former UNC member Anand Bedaisee, during a PNM meeting last week. Bedaisee apologised to the PNM and said he was moving from the UNC where, he said, he had been a strong member.
Bedaisee raised concerns about getting URP and other job opportunities. He said he had to get up at 4 am to take a number to see his MP and had been unable to do so since last year. Francois, however, said: "Because one is a UNC member, it does not mean one can just walk in at any time and see the MP. "We have a number system and it is first come, first served, and Dr Griffith is in office until 7.30 pm. "We have rules...it is a disciplined party, but we do not have problems in Toco Sangre Grande."
