Investigators have come upon a stumbling block in the murder of former ACP Cecil Carrington as no suspects have yet been arrested. Assuring that leads have not grown cold, police said the case is taking longer than expected to be solved. Carrington, a former member of the Flying Squad, was discovered shot dead at his establishment, Carrie's On the Bay, in Manzanilla on January 19. Carrington was a police officer for some 30 years and investigators believe he was killed by someone he knew.
Autopsy results revealed Carrington was in a sitting position when he was shot from behind at the nape of the neck. His funeral service takes place today at 10 am at the Church on the Rock, Lady Young Road, Morvant.
Police however, expressed confidence that the case would be solved as eyewitnesses had provided them with information about two men spotted running from Carrington's businessplace after the murder.
