The only mistake that was made in the Reshmi Ramnarine issue - and arguably so - is whether she had a degree, national security adviser to the Prime Minister Gary Griffith said yesterday. Griffith said he did not know Reshmi Ramnarine, didn't see her documents and was not part of the National Security Council meeting that considered her appointment. He added: "The issue of a degree and if it was on her profile sent to the National Security Council might be the only mistake.
"But a degree was never an issue since the former SIA head had no degree and we couldn't find any criteria for the post of SIA director, which was why the former head had no degree. "It's not an error on the National Security Council's part. It may be an error on the part of a public servant who didn't check on the degree." Griffith said Government had inherited poor administration from law enforcement agencies from the previous government." (GA)
