Auto body shop robbed of $30,000

Two men walked into an auto body repair shop in Marabella on Saturday and robbed the owner of more than $30,000 in cash. Up to late yesterday, officers were still searching for the robbers who attacked Wazir Ishmael, 30, at his workplace. Investigators said at around 2.40 pm, Ishmael was doing repairs to a vehicle parked in his garage at Ramsamooj Trace, Marabella, when two men armed with guns held him up. They forced him to go into the office where they seized a bag containing $30,000 in cash and cheques. Ishmael told police he had planned to deposit the money into his bank account today. Constable Sookram of the Marabella Police Station is investigating
