On crit­i­cism of the PP gov­ern­ment by COP deputy leader Robert May­ers yes­ter­day-the COP be­ing a PP part­ner-Im­bert said May­ers was on­ly sim­ply ver­bal­is­ing the feel­ings of many peo­ple who sup­port­ed the PP. "There is a deep feel­ing of dis­con­tent by many peo­ple who sup­port­ed the PP who felt things will be done dif­fer­ent­ly as they had cam­paigned on prin­ci­ples of in­tegri­ty, moral­i­ty, fair­ness, change, equal­i­ty and trans­paren­cy," Im­bert said. "What many sup­port­ers of the PP had told me is that they are just dis­ap­point­ed and dis­il­lu­sioned as they are see­ing a re­peat of every­thing they fought against when the PNM was in pow­er." Im­bert says the Gov­ern­ment will be well ad­vised not to de­ny that such feel­ings ex­ist among their sup­port­ers since, he says, when the per­cep­tion about a sit­u­a­tion takes root, no mat­ter what the true facts are, it is dif­fi­cult to get rid of the per­cep­tion.
