On criticism of the PP government by COP deputy leader Robert Mayers yesterday-the COP being a PP partner-Imbert said Mayers was only simply verbalising the feelings of many people who supported the PP. "There is a deep feeling of discontent by many people who supported the PP who felt things will be done differently as they had campaigned on principles of integrity, morality, fairness, change, equality and transparency," Imbert said. "What many supporters of the PP had told me is that they are just disappointed and disillusioned as they are seeing a repeat of everything they fought against when the PNM was in power." Imbert says the Government will be well advised not to deny that such feelings exist among their supporters since, he says, when the perception about a situation takes root, no matter what the true facts are, it is difficult to get rid of the perception.
