Con­sul­ta­tions on con­sti­tu­tion­al re­form have com­menced with the le­gal fra­ter­ni­ty. Min­is­ter of State in the Of­fice of the Prime Min­is­ter Collin Par­tap met with Chief Jus­tice Ivor Archie last Mon­day to be­gin dis­cus­sions.

A press re­lease from the Of­fice of the Prime Min­is­ter said dis­cus­sions would be on­go­ing and would in­volve oth­er sec­tions of the le­gal com­mu­ni­ty. Busi­ness, labour, re­li­gious bod­ies, Non-Gov­ern­men­tal Or­gan­i­sa­tions (NGOs) and oth­er stake­hold­ers al­so will be con­sult­ed. The re­lease said these con­sul­ta­tions would en­sure a con­sen­sus on the way for­ward for con­sti­tu­tion­al re­form.
