Those in authority should take note of the carnage on T&T's roads and enforce the laws that would prevent such tragedies. That was the view of Donna Marie Elias, daughter of businessman Ramon Naim Sabga during the funeral Mass for her father at the Church of the Assumption, Maraval, yesterday morning. In eulogies, delivered by various members of his family, Sabga was described, among other things, as a philanthropist, a music lover and a man who put his family above all else.
Father Reginald Hezekiah, who spoke at the Mass, described him as a personal friend and said he was the perfect example of success gained through hard work.He added Sabga's life could detail the history of Port-of-Spain and the legacy he left behind was one of goodness and kindness. The church was filled to capacity as family, friends, business acquaintances and those touched by his life showed their support to the family.
Minister of Education Dr Tim Gopeesingh and former Miss Universe Wendy Fitzwilliam were among those who attended the Mass. The scene at the church was one of melancholy and demonstrated the shock at his tragic death.Sabga died in a car accident on Friday night in St Clair. A suspect is currently before the court.
