Minister of Trade and Industry Stephen Cadiz and Carla Foderingham, CEO of the Trinidad and Tobago Film Co, met with the cast and crew of Ghosthunters International who are in Trinidad to film some episodes for the popular Sci Fi Channel show. During the brief meeting at Hyatt Regency, Port-of-Spain, the minister welcomed the foreigners and invited them to take part in Carnival activities while they are here.
The cast and crew decided to film in Trinidad after contacting locally-based ghosthunter Fernando Rodas, who had visited the Moruga Secondary School which made headlines after a number of children claimed demon possession. Jay Bluekey, producer of the show, said the cast and crew, which number about 18, had been here for a week and would be leaving next Saturday. They have already visited one location in the East, which gave the team an experience unlike anything they have ever had, he said. They plan to visit another location, which they are keeping secret. The Trinidad episodes of Ghosthunter International will air around June/July.
