A Ghanaian national, who pleaded guilty to having a forged passport and submitting it to the Immigration Division, will be sentenced on Friday. Richard Ofori-Appiah, 33, committed the offences on October 24, 2010 and pleaded guilty to the crimes when he appeared before Magistrate Marcia Murray yesterday in the Port-of-Spain First Court. He was charged by Immigration Investigation's Unit detective PC Richard Chotoo.
Attorney Patrick Godson-Phillips appeared for the accused. Ofori-Appiah was arrested when he submitted his Ghanaian passport to immigration officers at the immigration extension office on Frederick Street, Port-of-Spain, on October 24, 2010.
