Large band champs PCS Silver Stars has tied with Phase II Pan Groove for the top scores following the blink/bmobile National Panorama semifinals at the Queen's Park Savannah on Sunday. Both bands scored 270 points. In third place and just one point behind was Neal and Massy Trinidad All Stars, while Sagicor Exodus followed with 264 points. There was also a close finish between the top-scoring steelbands in the Medium category, with Katzenjammers (264), NLCB Buccooneers (263) and Pamberi (262) claiming the top three spots.
In the Small category the top scores going into the finals were by Arima Golden Symphony (263), Tornadoes (261), Merrytones (261) and Golden Hands (259). The finalists were announced during the early hours of Monday morning. The grand final is scheduled for Carnival Saturday at the Queen's Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain. Thirty-one steelbands made the cut from a field of 44 at the "Savannah Party" which was witnessed by thousands on Sunday.
