After today's House sitting and tomorrow's Senate session, Parliament is expected to take a break until the Friday after Carnival when bills, including the Government's property tax replacement legislation will be debated, PP House leader Moonilal said yesterday. The property tax bill seeks "to return to pre-2009 levels of property tax and does not implement any new tax," Moonilal had argued. PNM officials, however, have said the bill will place the burden of hardship of payment on senior citizens, low-income earners and tax defaulters.
