Af­ter to­day's House sit­ting and to­mor­row's Sen­ate ses­sion, Par­lia­ment is ex­pect­ed to take a break un­til the Fri­day af­ter Car­ni­val when bills, in­clud­ing the Gov­ern­ment's prop­er­ty tax re­place­ment leg­is­la­tion will be de­bat­ed, PP House leader Mooni­lal said yes­ter­day. The prop­er­ty tax bill seeks "to re­turn to pre-2009 lev­els of prop­er­ty tax and does not im­ple­ment any new tax," Mooni­lal had ar­gued. PNM of­fi­cials, how­ev­er, have said the bill will place the bur­den of hard­ship of pay­ment on se­nior cit­i­zens, low-in­come earn­ers and tax de­fault­ers.
