Twen­ty peo­ple are ex­pect­ed to grace the stage at the Queen's Park Sa­van­nah tonight as they vie for the Car­ni­val King and Queen ti­tles.Pe­o­la Marchan, from south Trinidad, placed first in Fri­day's Car­ni­val Queen Semi­fi­nal with her pre­sen­ta­tion D Jew­elled Chan­de­lier.Kay Ma­son of Lega­cy, por­tray­ing Is­land Queen, and Sev­ell Nicholls rep­re­sent­ing Mac Far­lane 2011, placed sec­ond and third re­spec­tive­ly.Lead­ers in the pre­lim­i­nary stages, Cher­ryanne Valere (For­est Blos­som) and Jen­na Marie An­dre (Botan­i­ca-A Flo­ral Ex­trav­a­gan­za) dropped points in the semi­fi­nal, plac­ing ninth and sev­enth re­spec­tive­ly.

An­dre's cos­tume is de­signed by vet­er­an mas­quer­ad­er and reign­ing Car­ni­val King Cur­tis Eu­stace, who is de­fend­ing his crown in tonight's Car­ni­val King fi­nal. Both An­dre and Eu­stace are rep­re­sent­ing the band, Spice.Tonight's show, part of the Di­mache Gras is ex­pect­ed to be a spec­ta­cle with a fab­u­lous dis­play of cos­tume de­sign and pro­fes­sion­al chore­og­ra­phy. De­spite a few tech­ni­cal dif­fi­cul­ties in the Car­ni­val King semi­fi­nal, ad­di­tion­al py­rotech­nic dis­plays are an­tic­i­pat­ed from both the King and Queen de­signed by Bri­an Mac Far­lane, and al­so from Eu­stace who is con­test­ing a record tenth Car­ni­val King ti­tle.

First place and crowd favourite, Wade Madray of Lega­cy with his pre­sen­ta­tion pa­cif­ic Tsuna­mi is al­so high­ly an­tic­i­pat­ed.Al­so, Yan­ick Holdip was crowned this year's Na­tion­al Ju­nior Car­ni­val King in Fri­day's fi­nal with his pre­sen­ta­tion Pro­tec­tor of the Reef.Swayne Tay­lor, who utilised stilts in his pre­sen­ta­tion King Cor­beau placed sec­ond, with Ryan Sook­nanan's The Fire Bird plac­ing third.
