Debate is expected to continue on the Statutory Authorities (Amendment) Bill when the House of Representatives meets for the first time after Carnival tomorrow (friday). The bill, which was presented for debate weeks ago by Finance Minister Winston Dookeran, makes provision for the family of a deceased Statutory Authority employee to be granted one month's salary.
The House is also expected to adopt the First Report of the Joint Select Committee appointed to consider and report on essential guiding policies related to member and staff accommodation during the restoration of the Red House. Three new bills are to be laid in Parliament. They are the Land Adjudication (Amendment) Bill 2011, the Registration of Titles to Land (Amendment) Bill 2011 and the State Suits Limitation Bill 2011. There are no questions for oral answer or written reply. Tomorrow's sitting begins at 1.30 pm.
